ABOUT

A “brilliant singer and a delicious and sexy comic,” (Times Argus) with “notes of brilliant intensity” (South Florida Classical Review) and “just the right perfectly pointed voice” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), coloratura soprano Ann-Marie Iacoviello is gaining momentum for her distinctive interpretations and exploration of lesser-known repertoire. Roles include Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Elle (La voix humaine), Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers), and Selena St. George in Picker’s Dolores Claiborne. In the 2025/26 season, Iacoviello will be originating roles for the world premieres one act operas by Omar Najmi and Samuel Beebe with the Boston Opera Collaborative. She will also be premiering the song cycle When I Bleed, with music by Felix Jarrar and text by Maggie Bowyer. Commissioned by Iacoviello, the work aims to raise awareness about chronic pain, particularly in relation to endometriosis, and to create space within classical music for the exploration and expression of these experiences.

In the 2024/2025 season, Iacoviello made her role and company debut as Elle in Poulenc’s monodrama La voix humaine with the Boston Opera Collaborative. Iacoviello performed the role of Johanna (Sweeney Todd) with Opera51, was selected to work on Zerbinetta’s aria, Großmächtige Prinzessin, in a public masterclass with Erin Morley, and worked as a teaching artist on the new children’s opera Zal and the Phoenix with Catalyst New Music. She performed in recitals with Boston Opera Collaborative and the BSR Recital Series.

In the 2023/2024 season, Iacoviello returned to the Seagle Festival as a Fall Season Artist, performing in a touring musical theater review focused on the music of Lerner and Loewe and a touring children’s opera The Ugly Duckling

In the 2022/2023 season, Iacoviello served as an outreach artist for Boston Lyric Opera, where she played Gretel in a condensed touring version of Hansel and Gretel. Iacoviello made a last-minute debut as Eurydice in Orphée aux enfers with the Opera Company of Middlebury, stepping into the role on just four days' notice.

In 2021, Iacoviello was an emerging artist at the Seagle Festival, performing as La Fèe in Massenet’s Cendrillon. In their annual scenes program Iacoviello performed as Soldier in  Zedler’s The Falling and The Rising. She was seen as Marianna in Wagner’s rarely performed Das Liebesverbot and in the ensemble of Holst’s Sāvitri with the Cambridge Chamber Ensemble.

Cancelled engagement due to Covid-19 include Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Sally (Die Fledermaus).

Iacoviello received a graduate degree from Boston University and appeared as Selena St. George in the New England premiere of Picker’s Dolores Claiborne, The Girl in Cipullo’s After Life, Emmie (Albert Herring), Cricket (The Cunning Little Vixen), and in the ensemble of Pelléas et Mélisande with the Boston University Opera Institute. She appeared as Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte) and Najade (Ariadne auf Naxos) with the Miami Music Festival. She was the featured soprano soloist with the Boston contemporary music group ALEA III’s 2019 season and collaborated with composers Patrick Walker and Zaq Latino during opera scenes previews at Boston University.

Iacoviello made her professional opera debut as Flora in DC Public Opera’s The Turn of the Screw

Concert credits include, soprano soloist in Ešenvalds’ Passion and Resurrection with the Boston University Symphonic Chorus and Symphony Orchestra Strings and soprano soloist in the Bach Magnificat with the Ithaca Baroque Orchestra.
